Following a successful RAE outcome, our continuing EQUIS and AMBA accreditations, and further progress towards gaining AACSB recognition, the school intends to strengthen its academic staffing by appointing a Professor as the Ackoff Chair in Systems Design.

Groundbreaking and distinctive research on systems theory and practice in the context of management has been undertaken at the business school through the Centre for Systems Studies for over twenty-five years. Candidates for the post should therefore have a strong research record and considerable teaching experience in systems design. The successful candidate will provide a significant individual contribution to the research outputs of the management systems subject group, help to secure research grant funding, and will be expected to mentor more junior staff in their research development. The school is looking for an exceptional individual who will provide research leadership within the systems design domain and will also make an appropriate contribution to the wider activities of the subject group, including teaching and learning and corporate engagement through external consultancy.
